About Purchasing
Art
A purchase from my studio offers both excellent value and direct support of the creative process. My full-time annual production of four or five paintings, and perhaps a couple of woodcut prints, allows the time for conception and production that each unique piece deserves.
I prefer to reserve most pieces for direct sale to my customers rather than selling through galleries. The higher markup of galleries can be a pressure to paint twice as fast in an effort to make a living as an artist. But, part of my message is to pause, to notice the world around us, and to see its beauty. Starting with the observation of life's richness and creating original art takes time.
All of the pieces offered are originals, not giclées or other forms of digital reproduction. The materials used are of museum quality and crafted to last for generations.
You also have the opportunity to visit my studio and to see part of the process. I believe you will find that this chance for direct communication adds to the meaning of the art. Although my new studio will be under construction for the next several months, most of the work will still be available for viewing, either at my home, or yours if you live nearby. Several paintings have sold recently, so if you have a favorite please don't hesitate to enquire.
As a special offer, sales tax is included in any purchase at my studio. Payment plans are available and public collections will receive special pricing consideration.
Visitors are direct supporters of the artistic process. Thank you to everyone who has visited, or purchased my work, or told friends about it. You make it all possible!
